Have you ever noticed English people or people with english accents are always bad guys in fims, I could list loads and loads of films and cartoons where this is evident but it'll take forever, so why are english people bad guys in films, do americans hate english people with a passion or something and love to see them look stupid and horrible?

It is said that american actors in general feel that playing villains will be bad for their career as the american public love a hero. whereas british actors prefer playing 'baddies' as often they are the best and most fun parts to play.

Dude, there are a lot of accents in the movies that are labeled as bad guys including Americans i.e. red necks, Southerners in general, Northerners etc. Not just the English. Do a little more research. You'll see they are not singling out the English.

Really? I never noticed this. James Bond is English and he's the hero. Colin Ferrell is from the U.K. and he plays a lot of good guys, too.

I don't think Americans hate any other nationality in particular. We're too busy hating each other. Sad but true.

God, since when did Hollywood represent the United States and Americans? It's bad enough with Bush but nobody ever elected them that's for sure. Most of Hollywood doesn't even like average Americans either so I wouldn't worry about them too much.

What about James Bond? He's the ultimate hero and he's English. I think it's just that the accent is mysterious, so villains tend to be cast as English.

Could be because we're still flaunting the fact that they lost their colonies so many years ago.
