Most absolutely yes...here is an answer I posted several hours ago...found under this question(in Religion & Spirituality)...I knew it would get a thumbs down ...I told my story anyway

Well, just checked and the question has been deleted so I will do the cut and paste thing...it's long, but if ya'll feel like reading..here it is
The asker wanted someone to prove the Existence of God...there were numerous answers...don't know if it was deleted by asker or yahoo, but...
Hi...I usually don't arrive here at the R & S section too often....it's difficult to read negative questions and answers. But, I saw yours and thought I'd respond. I can only offer a short story on what happened to me some time back. On a summer evening, I was sitting on my front porch and looking up at the stars. I was feeling as you are now...I said, "God prove you are there...I need you to make it real...I am feeling really low". After a brief time I continued, "God, if you are there and you ARE REAL,(HERE COMES THE TEST), I need you to show me a brilliant shooting star across this summer sky and I would like to see it right here and right now". (I will add that I am not a crazy person...I have done nursing for many years and am well educated in the field of nursing science)
I had my head lowered and for awhile I was afraid to raise my head to look, but, at the very instant I looked up at the night sky....there was a huge, brilliant and beautiful shooting star right in front of my eyes that went clear across the visual sky! Now, this was proof enough for me and I have not regretted my belief in God...He has shown me many times, on a personal level and with others, just how Alive He really is...I accept Him and believe in Him...it has been shown to me

I saw one, one night when I was driving home from a Japanese class I was taking at the time. It was so close that it seemed to cut right across the front of the car. I have seen a couple of shooting stars in my life but this one was just so bright and close that it is something I will never forget.

Yes. The best places to see them are in the desert. There are sometimes several a minute. Because the reflection of the city lights do not illuminate the lower level clouds (like in cities) you can see thousands of stars. Mountains are good for this too.

Sure!
If you want to see one, your best bet is to go somewhere away from city lights, on a clear night, and lay under the stars with your eyes on the heavens. If you're lucky, you'll see one or two over the course of an hour or so.
During a meteor shower, you can see lots!

Not a shooting star but a meteorite passing through the Earth's atmosphere.

Shooting star is a meteoroid(any clestial body) that has entered the earth's atmosphere.....yes!I've seen one when i was in grade school..it's fast moving, somewhat like rolling star. In our tradition, you have to make a wish if you seee one (make a wish right away) then they say it'll come true someday somehow...well, it's up to you if you really want to wish any...And it's your luck if this gonna come true.

Yes. Lots. On the back side of Mt. Baldy it's sooo dark and you can see them very well. On certain nights they are hundreds. Beautiful!

When i lived in Michigan, i would see alot. I dont know if it was because i lived out in the country. And the sky seem more open, then in town. Look up in the sky in Sept, that's when you see them the most.....
