Has anyone else actually recieved their modem for free broadband? These guys seem like jokers beacause my go live date was 25th feb and i'm still waiting. All they say when i phone up is what they are reading from the website.

I have been with Talktalk for 6 months. Had a bit of a wait for my modem, but had excellent free broadband since, running at 4.2 mbps, which is ample.
Customer service is in India, but I would recommend them. They have bought AOL out now, so your home screen is AOL, and the phone is great. Paying bout £25 per month on average for free all day and night phone calls, except 0845 and 0890 and 0901 numbers, ring abroad free for 70 mins at a time. Well worth changing, but if you order broadband, ring them every other day and keep enquiring where your set up disk is and they will get fed up and hurry along your order.

I'm on talktalk right now and have been for about 3 month's, it did take them 3 weeks after the go live date to actually get my modem and we complained like mad.
We did get some money knocked off our bill (even though it's free). All I can suggest is keep pestering them and be adamant that you want to speak to a supervisor.
Good luck and I hope you get sorted soon.
Just to add I have no problems with talktalk as my ISP, I get connected when I want to and recieve all my mail ok and ITS FREE.

Its the price you pay for free internet - rubbish service. I gave up ages ago and signed up to a proper provider. Yes you pay, but the service is so much better. Talk talk is terribly congested.

If its not been activated yet?, then change to another network, can recommend Sky package, or Virgin Media.
