I was in 4th grade and this was 35 years ago.

They hid in the bathroom stalls before closing and slept in the museum beds.

If anyone has read this and may know the name of the book I'd appreciate it. I suppose I can always ask my librarian, or try to find Mrs. Williams from Parkside Elementry. Thanks

Was it "From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler"

I read that in 4th grade also :) i don't know if it's the book you're looking for but there are a couple kids who hide out in the Metropolitan Museum and sleep in the museum beds, i remember that part too!

Ok just looked it up on Amazon.com and it's written by EL Konigsberg. Here's a link to the book summary on Amazon

It's called From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by EL Konigsburg - I think there was a movie too. I loved the book. It takes place in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. Pax - C.

Definitely what they said, and yes, any children's librarian probably would have been able to answer this one. :)
