This will sound funny, but it does work... I promise.

Re-wash the clothes without using your normal laundry detergent but do add about a half a cup to a full cup of Pine-sol cleaner. (the amount used is dependent on the size of the load)
Make sure that the load of laundry goes through all the cycles, and then add fabric softener and put the washer on the rinse cycle again.

Viola!! You have clean smelling clothes again, no musty smell.

If your dryer is smelling funny, you can wet a large bath towel in a water diluted solution of Pine-sol and throw it in the dryer for about 45 minutes.

Yes, I can help you, Add one cup of White Vinegar to your wash load, this measurement is for a small to med load, add one cup more for larger load, Also use the hottest water your clothes can handle use a full cycle wash, but before you do this your clothes should be soaked about an hour then washed in the vinegar solution, when cycle is finished you can then wash with detergent for however long you desire and also add to your rinse cycle half cup of White Vinegar, no fabric softner needed as vinegar softens and removes odors. Good Luck !

Wash the clothes in warm water and use a little less than 1/4 cup bleach in the wash.

I would rewash the clothes, put some borax or other freshner into the wash. And find something to freshen them in the dryer too. As far as the washer itself, do an empty wash with borax or possibly bleach, leave it open after the wash to get some clean air into it.

Rewash them with a box of baking soda. I have used this trick many times and it works great!! The baking soda is inexpensive. Or rewash with a couple of cups of white vinegar in the wash water. Both methods have worked quite well for me.

Rewash and add baking soda. It will freshen the clothes and the washer. Just running them thru the rinse cycle usually doesn't work.
