yes.......however i do not believe that most Americans are ignorant of what is going on with their elected officials.
many Americans seem to have simply lost hope with their leaders.
repeated lies, scandal, hypocrisy and out right evil has the tendency to tarnish ones hope and ideas in leaders. we (Americans) are strong as a whole and very resilient. however our spirits rest on a very unstable foundation.
i believe many have given up with the whole political process and have chosen the moniker of "IGNORANCE IS BLISS". by choosing this approach it is much easier to cope with the folly and or tyranny of our government.

I certainly do. I mean 51% of the American public voted for Bush on his second term. Thats go to show you something about how the American public is swayed by what seems to be the best candidate based on ads and not based on actual research of their past policy. Also for the record I've yet to meet an intelligent hard line republican or democrat and I've known alot of them. Anyone who votes solely on party lines is a fool. Learn to vote for those who would do the best job and not be in it to help the rich get richer.

of course!!
the average citizern voter doesnt live/breath politics ...what "news" they get is usually from a quick headline read from newspapers that promote and print stories/reports that are either patently false opt carefully parsed to be on the line yet wriiten to infer a scandel/"crime" willfull scurrilious activiy of who ever they intend to smear... or a few minutes listening to the "news" CBS/NBS/CNN are NO LONGER"news media" they are simply promotors that use their status as "the press/media" to produce information that will either please their owners or create controversy and kick up their ratings (=profit)..omission of information that conflicts with their ideolgies or organization's directives to focus on "x" is acceptable..
........SO yeah..the average working stiff hears that global warming is a "fact" because a""allxxxhundred scientists " (reality UN politicians and a few well funded scientists brought on board to produce reports that verify ....)....
....all people want to hear that they will be "helped/or get special services, or get relief from big priced items from medicine to gas etc..(how dare those plasma tv manufactures charge so much for an essential item???
gotta be kept from gouging ...(duh capitalism??)
Do they expect the fed to invent new toys ,electronis, gadgets... civil servants cant even manage their own forms and need assistance from higher ups so they will get back to you when they get it processed>>>)
....Its very sad when one realizes that people rarely think about what is said and what makes the statement valid...too many today cant differentiate between fact opinion and fiction...if tv shows say they can lift fingerprtints off of a skeleton, its fact
... sure the gov should give everyone free healthcare...(duh who will pay for this??? who will bother to choose a medical career as the gov will cap service fees..or flat rate procedures ..no drs and other health care providers no care, no research, co new meds ..)
...Precision is NOT trhe same as accuracy and politicians are self-serving entities who seek simply to gather funds and backing from everyone and keep their perk filled jobs
:Production or actually legislating a solution is "risky" so it must be avoided ...the public is easily distracted with controversy and tintillating allogations...complaints are easily blamed on the opposing party's acts or antics...
The press has become the best tool and will successfully add to the publics confusion..
voters are sacrifiving this country either thru ignorance or inattentiveness....and a false belief that they can get somewhat of a gist by listening /reading to the media,,

Sure, that is why HRC is doing her "for the children "act. Propaganda queen is totally counting on "ignorance" of the Democrats to put her in office, so she can stab them in the back again, that is what makes her feel more in control.

Yes. That's why the one the party if backing always wins. Nevermind that Wesley Clark forgot more than Bush and what's-his-face ever knew; walked the walk while they talked the talk.

They count on the people being misinformed. Mostly by slick ads.

Democrat candidates sure do. To them, your all stupid and should be helped like the little children you are. You don't know what to do with your money, so we'll take it. You aren't smart enough to get a job with health benefits, so we'll hand it out to you, that's just two examples, I could go on for hours.
