They advertise a 98% payout. You go in and play $100.00. Most of the time you lose the whole thing because they count on you playing the small winnings you've earned along the way back into gaming. But if you get your 98% payout, which would be $98.00, you've lost $2.00. Either way they get you coming and going.

The house mostly wins! They give very few payouts and when they happen that gives more of an incentive for the poor saps that sit there day after day to keep putting their money in the slot machine or on the table.
