Believe me I know, I am married, and don't even want to wake up with my wife beside me anymore, you start to resent her, stop calling her darling, and all those babyish names, and you just don't want to go home after work, as it seems a meaningless existence. Can't get out of it because Kids, Mortgage. although would not leave kids without a dad.

no one can give you a satifying answer. if you're no longer in love with someone, then maybe you're ready to love.
Here's a quote from Capt. Corelli's Mandolin about the difference between loving and being in love:
"When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away. Doesn't sound very exciting, does it? But it is!"

Boy do I know the answer here:
You are trying too hard because you feel guilty
You pick fights both big and small
You are thoroughly and utterly bored with everything
You start to separate your life from theirs in small ways
There is a knot in your stomach most of the time
Maybe what you feel is temporary, maybe not...but trust your gut. Life is short. Just work it out logically and then leave if that is what you need to do. It depends on what you need/want.

Let me tell you what I felt. I felt so relieved on one hand and so empty and sad on the other. Relieved for not having to think about what to do together, 'cos u always have to think of another person's judgement before u do anything. Empty and sad 'cos I will not be able to share anything with that person anymore. Sad for all the beutiful mamories too.

there's just nothing there anymore and everyday seems like a job you have to do or must do........you find no fulfillment in anything you do for that person and you don't appreciate whatever he/she does for you anymore no matter how much you knew it took them to do that for you

If you question yourself and can find no logical/emotional reason for being with that person, then you know.

the dead giveaway is when you find yourself trying to avoid contact with them or dreading them coming home. It's kind of self-evident especially when you really don't want to "talk it over" with them.
