At-home methods for inducing labor are hit & miss at best. At 39 weeks who is to say you wouldn't have gone in to labor anyways. But as long as you proceed with caution and don't try anything too crazy... go ahead and try some of the myths about inducing labor: Climb stairs, eat spicy food, have sex, go on a bumpy car ride... None of them proven to force a woman into labor. But they can help pass the time...
Instead... why not call around and try to find another doctor that you trust more completely? A "second opinion" of sorts? Perhaps your current doctor doesn't see any reason to induce because neither you nor the baby is in danger? Being uncomfortable is common in late pregnancy but isn't a reason to induce labor.
I'm thinking perhaps there is more going on than what you explained in your question since you are apparently taking Percocet for pain issues? Perhaps it would help if there were elaboration on what "complications" you are experiencing?
All the best!

I understand your at the end. You could go to 42 weeks before a Dr. induces labor. You said you had complications that your new Dr. ignored. The complications must not be significant. At 39 weeks even a crackhead Dr. would note obvious problems. If he did a full exam on you, you know what I mean, he would note anything out of the ordinary. He obviously didn't even find you efaced or dialated or you would have mentioned that. Carry on with your pregnancy, it sucks at the end, we all know it! But it's worth it! Just hold out! If you feel you can't make it - go to the ER, they'll keep you for awhile and turn you away if your not ready!

Sex reportedly induces labour. Nipple stimulation additionally encourages the uterus to agreement, however you could have obtained to do it for a few mins at a time. As good, a few suggest castor oil. If you're no longer secure being caused, you'll say no. Ask for exams to exhibit whether or not there are disorders with the placenta - that is the one purpose they must set off. It's precise that there are dangers to induction, adding a larger cost of cesarean. Unless you're no less than two weeks late, I might refuse it.

you're almost done. do you think once you have a newborn youll be able to play with the kids??? give me a break. He probably wont induce you because other than your selfishness there is no reason to induce you. EVERYONE gets uncomfy at the end of their pregnancy. thats just part of being pregnant. Stop complaining and enjoy your last few days without a newborn.
Oh how quickly we forget how much work a newborn is and how tiring it is recovering from birth and taking care of a baby- especially when you have older children.
There is no way to induce labor at home.... babies come when they are ready- no matter how much sex or nipple stimulation you have or castor oil drinking you do.

I learned in my birthing classes that sex, nipple stimulation and spicy food can bring on labor. So make a date with your husband and have fun!
*** Don't try castor oil, all it will do is make you sick and give you the runs which will do nothing but make you uncomfortable and dehydrated!***

to be honest sweetie if you have had complications it may be best to be induced in a controlled enviroment... but if your going to insist on tryed at home make sure you have someone with you incase things dont go right!.. i heard from my midwife that these things can help :
Raw pinapple,
Raspberry herbal tea,
Sex,
Spicy food,
long walks.

What happened to your regular doctor?
I am told that castor oil will induce labor... but if I were you I would do it right outside the ER... just in case. I don't know how quick it happens...

go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital now. They can't refuse you. Find somebody you love to watch your kids.
