First and foremost, check if you have the right oil filter installed onto that engine
Be sure you have the proper amount of oil with the right viscosity.
You may have a poor connection at the oil pressure sensor, or possibly faulty oil pressure sending unit.
Be sure the wire of that pressure sending unit is not touching any ground of the engine .
Here are the first steps you must take in order to keep that engine in a good state.
- Try to test the integrity of that oil pressure sending unit pressure circuit.( from the sending unit point to the dash board integrated circuit)
Try to replace that sensor if it has any sign of leak
- Test the engine oil pump pressure( If you have high miles on that engine.
However, if you don,t hear any mechanical noise during engine idling ,or during acceleration, or blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe. You still consider your problem is very minor!

Hm. first put a for sale sign in it, then buy a Chevrolet. haha, Im just kidding. what kind of oil sign is flashing? some newer cars have a "change oil soon" light that lets you know you are close to needing a change. Also look at your oil pressure guage, if it is about "40" then it is probably the sensor, as long as you have enough oil in the car. It also might have somthing to do with your filter, but thats doubtful.

There are some good answers above... definitly check the oil level with the dipstick. Many of the newer cars have a "change the oil" idiot light feature, if it has one, they may have forgotten to reset it, or they could have accedently knocked a wire loose, or it could be a oil pesure sensor, I would say take it back to the place that changed your oil... and they could double check thier work, for FREE, before going to a shop. ...but I am worried in case you really don't have oil presure, you could siese it up, running that engine at all.

first thing is to check the oil level with the dipstick. they might not have put enough oil in. or just the bare minium amount so the dipstick says it is ok. also, if they checked it after the oil change and didn't start it first, it might be low on oil as the oil filter holds about a quart of oil and it won't fill up until after the car is run after an oil and filter change.

They probably forgot to reset the warning light. On some cars you simply mash the gas pedal about 5 times repeatedly to do so without the vehicle being cranked.

so a techniques as i be attentive to, whoever "hits" has the criminal duty or is "at fault". In different words, coverage firms and regulation enforcements attitude is, "in case you're following each and all the guidelines of the line and protection, there is on no account any reason to hit something." Now, if there grow to be ice on the line, that would atleast make issues lean extra on your choose, yet i think of you'll have a image taken that day of the stretch of street you slid on. it particularly is why they say you should continually have atleast a disposable digital camera on your automobile to take a image of an coincidence and coincidence scene on the day of the coincidence, alongside with a cellular telephone, your coverage counsel, motive force's license and registration. hopefully you have automobile coverage which will pay even whether it is your fault, or if no longer, a great form of pals and family contributors which will help you in this time of disaster. there's a great form of different aspects to evaluate: grow to be the two of the drivers utilising at the same time as impaired, or in a hurry, did the two circulate away the scene of the coincidence in the previous regulation enforecement arrived, what style of automobiles have been in touch, did the two have automobile coverage-dl license-registration-etc... So hopefully, possibly there is different aspects that are on your choose right here. In the two case, it particularly is a take-heed call to alwayscontinual wisely and defensively and save as lots area between you and different shifting automobiles or gadgets as feasible, have a seat belt on, and have no distractions like listening to the radio, ingesting, ingesting, speaking on a cellular telephone, etc... i be attentive to all this by using fact i've got been utilising for years now, and have purely been in some injuries. In each and every coincidence different than one, somebody hit me and for some reason none of them even had a motive force's license!!!! interior the coincidence the place I hit somebody, I rear ended somebody, purely such as you probably did. So for the reason that I "hit", it grow to be my fault, even in spite of the incontrovertible fact that the motor vehicle in front of me stopped short and relatively speedy, no longer giving me any time to provide up. the only ingredient that stored me grow to be that the motor vehicle I hit left the scene of the coincidence, and, from what I comprehend, it grow to be some form of coverage rip-off on the component of the different motive force.
