I think sex offenders should be listed in the newspapers. The community should be made aware. 1 of 5 girls will be sexually molested before her 18th birthday. 1 of 6 boys will be sexually molested before his 18th birthday. There are 400,000 victims of sexual assault every year.
This is reason enough!

Absolutely a great idea ,We need to get the word out any way we can to protect ourselves and our children,Not everyone has access to a computer or wants to go to the police station and since there are new sex offender added each day it could be easier to just check the paper each morning or week however often the paper would publish it

Yes they should post names as well as pictures. Some may think that it is unethical, but they post the names of killers, bank robbers etc. and people don't complain about ethics there.
Isn't keeping the public informed more important, especially when it comes to protecting our children?

No, it's not unethical. It's a matter of public record. I lived in a small town where they did just that in the local paper. Not many surprises. It's a small town and we all knew who'd gone to prison for sex crimes.

i think sex offenders should be known to everyone who wants to know. not advertise it in public but make it general information open to the public.anyone who wants to see should be allowed to. if you're willing to do the crime, you better be ready to suffer the consequences.
