I'm dreading not being in my 20s anymore. By the time I actually reach 30, I hope it won't seem so bad. I look young and take care of myself - a lot of people guess that I'm 10 years younger than I really am. So, is it your "real" age that counts? The age that you look and feel? Getting older is just life, I know, but I'm curious how others feel about this milestone age. What is your experience and perspective? Thanks!

turning 30 was totally traumatic for me. i'm still trying to deal with it and i'll turn 34 in aug this year. i totally feel 10 years younger and look 10 yrs younger as well. my bf is 6 yrs younger which doesn't bother him at all, but sometimes i'll have these moments where i'll realize i'm not the same age as him and actually in my 30's already.
a lot of my female friends also freaked out about 3-0 but moreso because they weren't married or didn't have kids yet. these aren't things i want so i don't quite get why it was so traumatizing for me. maybe cuz i am way behind where i thought i'd be at this age? i totally act like i'm still just outta school which i guess keeps me young.
people keep telling me it's all about the age you feel, not your chronological age. it always haunts me in the back of my mind though.
you might wanna check out this book called Midlife crisis at 30: how the stakes have changed for a new generation", by Lia Macko and Kerry Rubin. It's kinda interesting to read.

You don't feel any different at 30 versus 29.. but my 30's have proven to be quite exciting so far. I feel like this decade will be the best yet. I am definitely more financially secure, emotionally secure, a whole lot wiser than i was in my 20's, and I have a career that will take me through life until retirement. All in all, I'd have to say that I'm looking forward to the rest of my 30's.
