Yes, as opposed to convex which makes things appear smaller.

a convex lens is used as magnifying lens (mind you! It's not a mirror) . here the object is so adjusted that it lies b/w the pole and the focus of the lens . So the image formed is enlarged and erect. In a concave lens the image is always small.

how can a mirror be a lens.but still it is convex mirror that makes the distant image large and concave mirror is used in vehicles and by doctors to see the image in a smaller view.

No! econo is just as confused as you!! concave means it is inward courved or caved in!! convex is the one that bulges outward and enlarges things,,, both can be used to start fires but the convex is the one most used,, just like a water drop that can cause a forest fire,, it is bulging out right?? there are no concave water drops!!!

Concave mirror has a magnifying effect, similar to convex lens.

If you are confused, try to get concave mirror and see for yourself. That may help you to memorise.
