this is kinda embarrassing but im having a hard time finding information elsewhere.
when i last visited my gynecologist she pointed out that my cervix was placed kinda far back and made a comment about pregnancy. i didnt hear well, but im fairly sure she said this could cause me back problems whenever i do become pregnant. can anyone verify this please?
secondly, i feel my mons pubis is rather on the large size. my gynecologist has never said anything about it and my husband didnt even notice until i pointed it out and explained that it makes me really self concious. i realize its not a severe health issue or anything, its more for my own benefit. my problem is i cant figure out why this is, im about 5'4 and 125lbs so im not exactly overweight and never have been, im in my late teens so age doesnt play a factor. could it possibly be because that's just where the majority of my weight goes? (lipo is not an option)
any insight on either subject would be greatly appreciated.

Ok well if your uterus is far back - it can cause more back pain for you during pregnancy- because there will be more pressure on your back- where normally your uterus will tilt outward during pregnancy- yours will probably start out tilting into your back- so it will put more pressure on it. Pregnancy is just plain incomfortable anyways- and eventually EVERYONE has horrible back pain when they get far enough along- so it's not really anything to worry about now.

It sounds like your dr was talking about your uterus being tipped backward and depending on the degree of the tilt not all women have a problem with getting pregnant (I've talked to a few that this has happened to).

As for the mons pubis (the area) at the top of our vulvar area where alot of the pubic hair is) that is supposed to be a bit fatty. The fat is what helps to make it be the shape that it is on top as part of the shape of our vulvar area (external genital area).

I would also recommend discussing your concerns with your mom and ask the dr for more of an explanation on what she meant about the issue of possible problems with getting pregnant and the position of your uterus and cervix.

A retroverted uterus normally has the cervix pointing away from the vaginal canal and causes obstruction to the smooth passage of the semen into the uterine cavity. Naturally, this can cause some early dealays in concepetion, but a Ferility Clinic Surgeon or Physician can guide you on how to circumvene this obstacle through postural manipulation or even temporary manipulation of the cervix forward through props inserted for short periods. As for the possibility of excessive problems during pregnancy, on this account, it can be said that the cervix becomes comparatively very small with reference to the main bulk of the expanded Uterine body and discomforts from its position actually decreases during advanced stage of pregnancy. In some rare cases, it is also seen that when the uterus shrinks after th first delivery the imbalance gets rectified automatically, giving credence to a widely held belief among Gynecologists that the retroverted Uterus is a product of unhealthy ways of sitting adopted by girls in their early childhood and adolescence.

An expansive Mons can be hereditary gift. Check with your mother. It is harmless, and on the contrary can be a blessing, ;it reduces delivery pain. But if the problem you mention is of a bulging Mons, it is pure fat and will melt once you start doing backward stretching exercises for the pelvic region. You can also drive the fat away through rigorous massage with a slight massage applied to reduce extreme friction.

Hi, I'm in the medical field so this isnt coming out of left field. First....maybe your doc said you have a tilted uterus? Very common. Everyone's body is different and your uterus simply lies more posterior, (back), further than some. When you get pregnant, your baby will rest more in your back, putting pressure on nerves and causing some uncomfortable back pain, leg numbness. As far as you mons pubis.....same answer. Everyone is different. You shouldn't feel self concisous, and I believe as you get older, you will realize that. Enjoy being different. If nobody has noticed but you, maybe you're being too criticle of yourself.
