Broke my wrist when I was 13, falling out of a tree. Your son sounds like he's pretty tough, but yeah, when they move it it hurts a LOT worse. I didn't cry when I broke it, although it sure ached. No one believed I had actually broken it until I got to the hospital, they thought I was just complaining! When they set it though, I almost passed out, and that was with the anesthetic.

Yeah, I recently broke a bone. My pinky was sticking out at right angles from where it normally is, but if it wasn't for that I dunno if I would have noticed. Couldn't feel it. Well, I would have noticed when I blacked out.
Maybe it's shock? A lot of people don't seem to cry when they break bones, though some girls tend to scream a bit.
Give your son my best wishes, I hope it heals quickly!
And from one thirteen-year-old to another, tell him that Yahoo Answers is the way to go for bored kids stuck inside with broken bones. I have had experience in the matter!

I broke my collarbone when I was 13, it didn't hurt too bad at first, until they started moving it around. I think it was because my body was in shock. During the wait in the emergency room I wanted to sleep so badly. It hurt soooo bad after I was in a sling. The worst thing about breaking that particular bone is you can't have a cast to keep it immobile, so you end up moving it, and boy when you do....!!!!

I don't know. it was never diagnosed.
but I'm pretty sure i broke my big toe a couple times playing soccer as a kid. It was swelled up, hurt so bad for so long..
later I found out it was growing at an odd angle so i figure it must have broken.
oh and the tip of one of those little pointy riblets that stick out of the lower vertebrae.. saw it on my x-ray floating free.. years after a back injury.

I broke my left arm at age six, and a few months ago my right-hand pibky, lol. But the arm pain I never have, though my finger still hurts sometimes, it's called "phantom pain". It's btter to break a bone in your adolescence or childhood b/c it heals better. That's what the doctor told me.

I have broken the middle toe on my right foot 3 times. My son broke his left arm when he was 8 (he's 23 now), and my daughter broke her ankle when she was 16 (she's 27 now).

broke my arm when i was in the 5th grade.
i fell off the mokey bars at school. didn't know i broke my arm until i got up off the ground and noticed my arm felt funny. thats when i saw my arm was broken. a little bit of bone had broken through the skin too so i was bleeding a little. i didnt fell any pain either only the pain in my butt from falling on it.
probably didnt feel any pain because it happened so fast or maybe adrenaline.

I broke my arm when I was four. I broke my foot last July 5th. I just stepped wrong and it fractured the bottom oh my upper right foot. It wasn't a fun summer for me. I had to wear a cast for ever, then they put me in a boot. So, I feel for your son.

Yes I have broke a bone before. I chipped my elbow bone when I was about 6 years old on my sister's roll or skates.

Ring finger on my right hand and big toe on my right foot, that was the worse pain I felt. Worse than the night before I had to go in to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy.
