And my job's been boring lately, so I'm worried I'll be sitting in my chair looking at my computer screen struggling to stay awake. I want to go to bed soon (although it's pretty late already, so I'm no doubt going to be tired). Any suggestions. I've already taken ambien and it didn't help.

I know the feeling, I have been up since Thurs at 6am and went to sleep at 4am that same morning and then had to work. It would have been better for me just to stay up those 2 hours b/c I felt tired afterwards. I don't get tired during the day when this happens, but I do get foggy headed and have a hard time concentrating. You might have to switch from Ambien to Klonopin for a few months and switch back when your body gets used to them. This usually works for me, but I haven't had the time to get to the pharmacy, ok, I've had the time, but who wants to go out that time of night to the pharmacy?? Not me. Hopefully I'll be able to get some sleep tonight--4 hrs is usually the norm for me.

Have a warm shower - it does wonders for relaxing your body.

Go to bed and consciously relax each muscle. While lying there, tell yourself that it's ok to not be asleep, your body is still getting some rest. This helps reduce your anxiety about not sleeping, and hey presto, that elusive snooze will soon be yours.

Try reading a book - if you hate reading - it is guaranteed to knock you out or alternatively, try and tackle the housework - guaranteed to make you want to get in bed and sleep!! God Bless You!!
