The rock is grounded to the earth, and so will the lightning strike if it hits it.

the answer from the other environmental geologist is correct, but it also depends on the type of rock. not all rocks contain silica like sandstone that will fuse under extreme heat and form fulgurites. a lot could simply expand from the heat and split (probably not into dust).

The heat of the strike can lead to formation of glassy structures called fulgurites. They range from centimetres to metres in size and are mainly found in sandstones, where the immense heat can fuse the individual grains of sand.
