Will this spiral of decadence and folly be reversed?

Only a merciful God knows that answer. It seems to me we have far exceeded the wrongs done by those in Sodom and Gamorrah.

There is no spiral of decadence and folly any more than there has been since time began. It's just your perception. Things are, by and large, the way they have always been - only different.

America saves...at Walmart (OK, so you knew that was coming) :-)
Your accusations of decadence are known to everyone else as "freedom." It's a fabulous concept that says our bedrooms are none of your business. Try it sometime when religious conservatives are not proselytizing against gays in their mega-churches or decrying the effects of consumerism on a capitalistic society.
As for the folly part, I'm very much looking forward to science continuing to improve our lives and modern ethics displacing traditional religious notions that for too long have obscured our ability to reason and accept the universe.

Amerika is doomed as long as Freedom of Speech is denied. I've received so many violation notices on this site for criticising Dubya. When you can't call a madman a madman without some fool taking offence, then yes, things don't look to good for Mind**** Amerika!

Only they can save themselves, the question is "will they?". Truly everything is subject to change America is just the latest arrogant empire, unfortunately it wont be the last.

I agree with I WISH. People come here everyday to make a better life. Whether legally or illegally, they still come. Just like they have for 600 years.
