America is a country so deeply rooted in institutional racism it would be impossible to think by just "getting along" with each other, all of the problems of racism will disappear.
One must consider that America has been in operation for over 400 years, and it could conceivably take another 400 years to reverse the thinking that propagates racism. The point is racism is ingrained in the fabric of America the same way baseball and apple pie are.
If people want to concur racism they must be first bold enough to reject our current system and brave enough to create a new one. this will take work and will, thus your new question should be, "Do we have the will to just get along?"

racism is something that will unfortunately never go away. Why? I wish I had an answer. Every person is different from the next and not just because of race , color, or ethnicity. We all have different views. Racism should stop, just because a person is black, white, red, or green should not be the reason we treat them any differently

I think it is time to focus on the things we have in common and not our diversities. Until we can have intelligent conversation about race with each other, fear and/ or ignorance will always have a part and that is the basis of racism.

Teach our children better, let them know it does exist and it's not cool. Stop generalizing groups of races and stop the stupid ethnic jokes-they are not funny. ALL are offensive in one way or another. It's okay to be different. That's what makes each person unique. Learning about other races helps break down the barriers.

Evelyn said she is "contagious"--- I think I caught her "voice against racism"!! Maybe I should try and spread that around a bit, too!

In my eyes, it's as simple as communicating, recognizing, understanding and accepting that we are different and have differences. It's a simple idea worthy of a chance but it will take hard work to achieve.

i guess it all comes down to the basic group of the community which is family. if the family raised you well and taught you not to be racist or discriminative, if each and every family or parents will do that to their kids i guess this weould be a much better and nicer world to live in..
