I have an 89 camaro. It has a ground kit on it, couple chips on the fender but nothing too serious.. no rust, well taken care of, automatic, about a 100,000 miles on it, brand new tires.. but I cracked the block in the motor. It still runs but the engine is about to blow out any day so I was wondering from someone else's perspective and hopefully someone who knows a little about cars unlike myself if it's even worth trying to sell and getting some kind of money for because I do not want to spend the money for a new motor right now and just bought an 07 cobalt anyways..

If you think I could still sell it, how much do you think it would be worth?

I can't tell you how much it would still be worth, because it is all a matter of what somebody is willing to pay for it, but I can tell you that is worth trying to sell. There are a lot of people that may be interested in fixing it up, or maybe even just buying it for the body. If it gives you a better idea...I had an 85' Camaro Z28 5.7 Liter TPI with modifications. I broke a piston, and was forced to sell it. I only got $400 out of it. Like I said, It all depends on what somebody is willing to pay. Good Luck!

The resale value on an 89 is not very high . You can sell it for $500 or stick a $300 used motor in it and get $1500 . Then problem with these older car is you could stick a $3000 motor in it and still not be able to get $2500 for the whole car . Try some KD Block sealer and let it go for $950 while it still runs.

with a blown engine, you probally wont get more than a few hundred. $500 would be tops if everything else was in very good condition. another option is to change the engine and then sell it, but you would have to see if it would be worth it to do this, or if you can even afford to go this route, tying up money until it is sold.

Do not put block sealer in the engine, it could really screw someone over. Your best bet is to go to a salvage yard a replace the motor with a good running used one.
