Does this really matter? I enjoy Agatha Christie, but two centuries from now I don't imagine anyone will know the name of any 20th century mystery writer -- name me one writer of 19th century dime novels -- Well, ok, I still know something of Ned Buntline, but I'll wager that you don't.

Shakespeare will endure.

Shakespeare ~ continues to be bought, read, and translated after centuries have passed! Second only to Bible ~ and there, again, a book that has endured for multiple centuries!
