ok i have a 60gb no router i hook the ethernet cable to my ps3 and my roadrunner modem ip address pass but internet connection failed why that

Go and use PS3's network settings to set-up your internet connectivity and you shouldn't have any problems. (Provided the other devices like the ethernet cord, modem, etc. is working fine of course).

Or better yet get a wireless router buddy, 60GB PS3s have built in wireless adapters and it would be a total waste if you're not going to use them.

I Dont very own A PS3 yet I Do very own A PS2 and that i'm sturdy at Networking Stuff With The PS2 there grow to be an information superhighway Startup Disk Does The PS3 Have One?? if so Run The Disk on your PS3 And it is going to steer you interior the path of the Setup i'm hoping This facilitates If no longer attempt Restarting The Modem then attempt your settings on the PS3 (it took a modem restart to get my xbox 360 on line)

Probably because RR uses MAC address for access. Your computers MAC address is matched to your account for internet. Copy over the settings on your computer to the PS3. I do not own a PS3 so I do not know if you can spoof/change the MAC of the PS3.
