You don't need to do a system restore to get more space on your notebook. Just delete files you don't use or need anymore. You could save more space by right-clicking on the recycle bin icon on your desktop and click on properties. After that, on the global tab, you will see a percentage scale. Set it to 1 percent, then click ok.

Turn it off and it will erase it. To do this, click on start, right click on the 'My Computer' icon, select properties. It will show a window called 'System Properties'. Select the 'System Restore' tab and check the box in this section to turn it off. Press Ok. It will take a minute as it deletes everything in system restore, then your all done!

What makes you think performing a system restore will give you more disk space?

Also run Disk Cleanup (don't compress though). It cleans out about 6 different things many people don't know about.
