Well if you are good enough to get the job then you will have a people network to help you get the work.

Some industries extensively use people networks. These are usually areas such as design and media, but also construction and other areas where the work is short-term.

To people network, you should arrange social engagements for the type of people you need to know. Have a dinner party and invite these people.

You should also think about trying to be the sort of person people want to hire.

Firstly you should be friendly (we usually hire the people we like).

Secondly be professional. Do your job, don't complain or put other people down.

Thirdly, help others and make people feel good.

Finally, don't worry too much. There are many ways to get good work, and who you know is not as important unless you are lazy and incompetent.

not that i'm any good at it but maybe i don't try. Get out socialize, mingle, chat it up, don't seem needy and don't bring up buisiness right away. Get numbers and intentionally and methodically get friends. Host dinner parties and group activities for no reason at all, meet the friends of thier friends just being nice and sociable for no reason, one day a friend of a friend has a job or needs a favor and you're connected to this social network and people will just send you over, he's gonna come work with you, sure i trust cousin vinny and you have the job before the first day you show up to work. Or maybe you have to apply in a more professional way but maybe you'll hear it through grapevine when and where opportunities are.

Go to meetings, be extrovert, initiate talks, ask things, sustain discussions with them, sell yourself.
