Sometimes I did a mistake and i regret it. I still have the urge to apologize(eg. to my mum) but that particular word is very very difficult to come out of my mouth. I have been wondering why.... So, instead of saying sorry, I will do something that makes her realise that I know I'm wrong.

Some people have been severely criticized or ridiculed for making mistakes as a child, by an insensitive parent or teacher. As an adult, being in a situation where a mistake has been made, to admit that mistake openly is to feel that shame all over again, like being a child again and that is painful so people avoid saying sorry so they don't have to feel the shame.

Yes, there are some people who know they are wrong but are very egotistical and will never admit it because they have to be better than everyone else.

It's very sad all around.

Sham of guilt and not accepting it has already been thought out thyself. Some just ant'in like showing the better side and confront it. Some take it as a fear which is very week... this takes time to overcome. More likely this caused by knowing the wrong side...first timer would just simply ride it out (walk away).

Pride and Ego.... Now, if we did apologize and take responsibility we would have harmony :) practice makes perfect
