my mom is a visitor to usa,and she tripped and fell down and broke her hip.now ,we don't know how to cover her hospitalization and hip surgery cost.she has no insurance coverage here.if medi-cal can cover up a part of her expenses?

you can try calling the financial aid dept of the hospital (if there is one) and see if she qualifies for them to write off part or all of the bill. It would only be the hospital charges if she qualified but that is a start. Most hospitals have grants for people in such situations as your mother. Good Luck.

Do like most non citizens do......skip out on the hospital bill. Why should you...and me for that matter....expect Medical or Medicare to pay for her medical bills? I'm sorry your mother was injured but I have to pay for my medical bills so why shouldn't your mother? Does she work in her native country?

Why not contact the hospital and make arrangements to set up a payment schedule and pay your mother's medical bills?

And since the accident has already occurred Medical will not pay her bill retroactively. Has she contacted her country's embassy here in the US and asked them for assistance? After all, she isn't a US citizen so why should US taxpayers foot the bill?
