it's a 98 dodge neon sohc i swapped out for a 96 dodge neon dohc,now i can't get it to run,got any good tips or manuals i could look up?

It could be that the ECM is different for each engine.Check with parts store to see if they are different for starters.Get youself a 'Technical Manual' and not just the regualar Repair Manual.

Did you bring the computer from the DOHC with the engine? if not thats your problem. The SOHC can only read one of the cam sensors. you have two sensors on the DOHC. I am also not even sure you have both sensors plugged in if you still have the SOHC engine harness installed. you may need to double check all your sensors are connected correctly. but I would think the problem lies in the computer.
