The Census Commission recognises cities with a population above 4 million as a metropolitan city.
A city in India is classified into categories according to the total population under one local governing body, whereas urban agglomerations includes more than one local governing body. So which city should be classified as Metropolitan city solely depends upon the population governed by the Municipal Corporation alone, leave aside other governing bodies like cantonment board, municipal council, notified area committee etc that may be a part of urban agglomeration. From this it is clear that only those cities should be enlisted as Metropoliton cities that have a population of over 4 million under one local governing body--Rohit Saxena 20:33, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Bangalore and Hyderabad are not yet announced as Metros.

For India?-
- Lots of skeevy perverts hanging around with nothing to do but leech at women all day..
-Auto drivers that charge extra and wont ply all routes
-No proper waste disposal system, or good public toilets
-One million beggars and hawkers, especially at tourist destinations to drive all the phirangis nuts, that are coming to see and experience the country, am sure they are impressed.
-Equal amount of stray dogs, to kill any domesticated pets that may escape the confines of your house.
-Plenty of pollution, and narrow roads, for the millions in the city that drive. Which are promptly dug up and remetaled every six months by some unscruplous contractor. Probably on some politicians payroll.
-and last but not least, Water and Power shortages.
