That depends on the child and amount of time. Is there a neighbor who will be at home in case of emergency?

When I was 10, my younger brother and I were left home alone in the mornings and after school. The lady across the street watched out for us, but that was about it. My mother is a teacher and was home about 90 minutes after we got out of school.

No sorry its against the law and if you were at home alone and a huge fire started or some bad person broke in you wouldn't stand a chance don't rush you will be all grown up before you even know it, enjoy being a kid for now its much more fun.PS If you parents are leaving you at home alone you really should tell some one about it like your teacher or a relative or some one grown up Good luck darlin

It isn't the ideal situation.
It is not against the law, however. (Unless you are in Australia or NZ)

"Most States do not have regulations or laws about when a child is considered old enough to care for him/herself or to care for other children. Currently Illinois and Maryland have laws addressing this topic. States may have guidelines or recommendations. These guidelines are most often distributed through child protective services and are administered at the county level."

Not yet.

I don't let my 9 year old stay at home alone yet, either.

depends for how long? and if its in the night or day. a couple hours during the day is probably ok. but would you want to be left home alone? cause if you dont you shouldnt be left alone. how comfortable do you feel with it? and do you think you would we able to handle any situations that may arrise. for instance a creepy man coming to the door? a fire?

Sorry, 9 is too young. Maybe 20 min. if your mom has to do an errand, not longer than that.

No. Kids are stupid and shouldn't be trusted and left at home alone.
