You could try St Johns Wort or Valerian- they are natural calmatives, also Vitamin B or camomille tea. A combination of breathing and yoga techniques might also be useful.
Try to imagine the situation before you attempt this uncomfortable task and practice what you are going to say, preferably in front of someone you trust. Rehearse your answers; that way you'll have less to worry about.
For a non herbal solution, a beta-blocker, this is a drug that slows your heart; but you'll need to check with your doctor first.

First of all, what you experience is a very natural reaction to "anything new" and there is nothing unique with you. I too suffered with this problem at one point of time. I tried several techniques/medicines which helped me a lot. I hope you will also be benefited by them.
1. Try Acupressure: Press the palm mount under your thumb with a pencil for at least 2-3 minutes. Also, press the tip of your thumb whenever you feel nervous.
2. Ayurveda: Try Ashwagandha (either powder or liquid) with milk at night before going to sleep.
3. Homeopathy: Gelsemium 30 is best suited looking at your symptoms. Take five or six pills of No. 20 Globules of the same 3 times a day- half an hour before or after the meals. You will certainly be benefited.
4. Yoga: Try several meditation techniques to control your senses.
But most important of them all, train your mind with positive auto-suggestions that you will always get the desired result. Remember you can always fool your mind to make it believe what you want it to believe.
All the very best for your endeavor.

I also experienced it for more than a year. I can't drive alone. I can't travel alone. A doctor once prescribed a medicine named "xanor" to calm me down. Yes, 'twas effective but then it has a side effect. You will become addicted to the medicine. To some degree, you will become panicky once you discover you dont have any in your pocket. Two years ago, my other doctor adviced me to stop taking the said medicine because nervousness according to my doctor is all in the mind. We should fight it off. True enough, I stopped taking said medicine. Yes, I still do feel it even now but it's not as intense as before because I learned to fight. You know what, lift it up to our God. Ask God to give you strength to fight it off. Everytime you're nervous, ask God to keep you calm. Do always say a prayer before speaking in public; Take a deep breath! So, my suggestion is dont take any pill or herbs. You can fight it off by yourself. Believe you can with the help of our God.

Your speech problem is common. Unfortunately there is no magic pill or herb that will cure it. What you lack is confidence in yourself. Do you know who you are? Begin the journey to self. Once you know who your are, the rest becomes more manageable. Meditation will help reduce the traffic going through your brain. Balanced meals will give you more energy with less distraction of diseases. Exercise will invigorate the body. Clean water will flush the system of toxins. A spiritual healer will help give you guidence along the way.

I am a big believer in aromatherapy. Lavender is very calming as well as chamomile. I love the chamomile tea and find that it is very relaxing. check out your local GNC stores for other herbs and/or minerals that may give you a calming effect. Take a look at this website maybe it will be useful. Good Luck!

What you experience is a social phobia, and most of us feel that way too. You are not just one in ten and maybe you are 8 of the ten. Perhaps the type of social phobia you have is the general one. Regarding nervousness, from my personal experience, don't drink too much caffeinated drinks like soft drinks, tea, coffee. For more about social phobia, read this stuff ... so you may know where you could ask for an advice regarding your concern.

go into a whole foods or natural product store. the homeopathic products have worked great on just about everyone I've recommended it to. my autistic son got results in 3 days, my boyfriend his dad and myself got results that same day. try the product boiron, the usually have individual or packs for your specific needs one is called "stress" and it has 3 different bottles that contain ingredients that can calm you. another brand is native remedies, and you can order the products online. the great thing about these is that it's all natural so it cause just a little to non side effects

You can try herbal teas to help relax. Chamomile or lavendar tea are good choices.
Practise breathing techniques can also help you to relax.
Find someone who is of authority but who is nice. Ask him or her for help so that you can practise communicating.
