Well, you did not tell us much about yourself, less you count you like working w/kids @home, but if you can do it I'm going to advise you to do what I did at thirty, which is move.
My boss of seven years, and my boss of my first serious job,had just been arrested, and since any and all wrongdoings were all his fault, we the employees were free to move on, avoid jail, seek other jobs, etc. Now,not having many skills, I was scared sure, and out job hunting one day in the field I was in someone approached me and while I did not think to highly of the offer I have been with them now for 2 yrs and enjoy it almost more than my prev job.(which lasted 7yrs)
In closing, I could not have done this had I had a wife/gf/kids/etc but I didnt and if this also applies to you
I hope Ive given you something to at least think about.
You should just get back out there!
Maybe your passion will find you as mine did me.Good Luck!

Hi..
I think I'm pretty happy when I'm helping other people
so all I have to do is find ways of making it pay and I
can be happy all thetime.
What about you?
It's either business or get a job.
You want to have a number of ways of being in contact with other people until you sort out what business to do.
Now building your skills won't happen over-night, so you learn as you go. You do have skills..you just haven't taken stock
of what you've got!
This network allows you to build your contact list, learn as you go, create and send your own newsletter and make money.

You sound like a pretty typical Gen Xer to me. Most of us fall in to what we like to do, hardly any of us will stay with one career through our lifetime. The best way that I have seen work from home is to get on with a large corporation, work in their office for 2 or 3 years, then transfer into a telecommuting job.
Go online and take a career skills assessment, it may give you some good ideas of the types of jobs you can consider.

what do you LIKE to do? what talents do you have? what are you good at? This is how you find your dream job. Once you've found it, figure out how to get where you want to be and get there! Above all, make sure you are happy with what you are doing. If not, no matter how much it pays, the job is going to physically and mentally drain you for as long as you do it, and you'll regret wasting your life on it.
