I am 29 yrs old, yet I look like I am 21. I am in very good shape, well proportioned. But I am 5'3". I weigh 107lbs. Many tell me I ma very attractive. The thing is I understand that I modesl should be at least 5'7" or taller, and younger. I always wanted to model, but I always felt insecure, personally. Anyhow, there is an agency that takes on models of all ages and looks. They have a website and all they ask for is two pictures, face shot, and body shot. I suppose what I want to know is can I make any $$ in this business, as far as petite modelings, face print, and so on. I understand that high fahion is not an option for me. If I send my pics, what should I expect? I don't have any professional pics of myself. Is this something I would have to pay for? Or does the agency take care of things like this? Anyone in the fashion industry...advise is appreciated. Thank you.

Well as long as you know you're probably not up for high fasion, you've got a good start. A lot of communities have kind of local celebrities that are actors, models, etc. and that's nothing to sneeze at. You might make some money. DO NOT BUY PICTURES FROM A COMPANY!!!! If they offer you a photographer, that's fine, but if they make you buy they're picture pack to model, don't do it. It's most likely a scam. I would definitely invest in professional pics.

Well yes you are a bit old for the typical model, what the public thinks of as a "model" anyway. The television has sadly altered their reality as far as perceptioin is concerned. The truth is models are needed in many different age brackets and many different categories, and yes you are a little short also, however I think you should look into catalog modeling. You might just be what someone is looking for in the commercial modeling scene.

Well, as the man said - height and youth, are prerequisites. But don't let that stop you. Send your photos in. You should contact local photographic colleges and clubs, they are always needing models and will take photos of you for modeling, and probably enlarge them too. A4 black and white photos are best, natural light and very little makeup.

please just be very careful. there are sooooo many companies that want u to pay for those prof. pict's or pay to be in the agency or pay for something. not to be negative, but that's how this business is, it's may not be hard to get in, but it is hard to stay busy, make money, not get taken advantage of in one way or another. on my very first photo shoot (age 14) was also the first time i found someone trying to take advantage of me.
**i would try to find some of the local shops/malls that do runway shows, their fun.
**i also went to the convention shows, they sometimes need models for the showroom floors.
good luck, have fun, but more important be careful.

If your just another pretty face that wont work. They are a dime a dozen. They want the whole package (young and tall). If there is you and an equally pretty girl that is younger and taller They will pick her every time. Sorry.

actually... just regular snap shots are all that they need. it doesnt have to be professional but make sure it's not blury or anything. if it's just little stuff.... you most likely wont make that much money... but you never know what'll happen so dont get your hopes up. but until you are official in the agency.. they wont pay a single penny just so you know.
well i wish you good luck
