I think people are voting for him to make a mockery of the show!
Sanjaya Malakar, 17, is from Federal Way, WA. He auditioned in Seattle with his sister, who was eliminated at the Hollywood stage of the competition. Sanjaya says he started singing as a little boy and had formal singing training.
Sanjaya, who spent four years performing with the Hawaii Children Theater, claims he is a shy person and says "I'm scared that I'll never be able to walk into a supermarket without someone recognizing me." His music idol is Stevie Wonder.

Oh, you'll have a lot of people agreeing with you. I heard that there are websites encouraging people to vote for the worst, rather than the best. Its not even a contest anymore, its a joke.

because he is sweet, untalented, unpretentious, fun, believes in himself, knows he is not great and goes on undeterred. he is a role model for people who dont have great talent and who need to be encouraged... he is living the american dream, please do not shatter his dream...
