Yes!! They will win their division. They are the best team in the NL Central without a doubt.

I honestly think that the Cubs will win the NL Central this upcoming season and make the playoffs that way. The only 3 contenders this year for the title are the Cardinals, the Cubs, and the Astros, like always. The Cubs have to be the best out of the three because they have a good manager now, spent a lot of money on improving their team entirely, and have a rare pitching staff. Plus, the Cardinals are getting weaker as we speak and they lost a lot of good pitchers. The Astros don't even have a chance after all they've lost this year.

Ok I like the Indians so I am going to be very unbiased. The Cubs are very improved but I don't think all the moves will get them to the playoffs.I liked the signing of Ted Lilly,he has the potential to win 15+ games with a good offense behind him.Soriano will provide power and speed and a healthy Lee will do everything else. All in all the Cubs are better then the Pirates, maybe the Brewers, and maybe the Reds and maybe the Astros, but they aren't as good as the Cardinals.Look for an 80-85 win season.

first ill say i am a cubs fan, that being said the NL Central is anyone's
Cubs = sent Cash much better at the plate but will 1 #1 and 2 #3 and a few qeastanal starting pitchers have what it takes?
Cards = they have don nothing this off season and lost several good players they will be lucky to make the play offs, they barly got in last year but in there defence they got hot when they needed to.
Astros = have been on the decline for 2 years now and didn't help them self this off season.
Brewers = scare me they will either be realy good or realy bad.
Cincinnati & Pittsburgh = will fight for last

The Cubs do not have depth in every position. After Zambrano, you are left with a few .500 career pitchers, a young unproven, and the guy with the highest era of any starter last year (marquis), and he was even left off of the World Series roster!
Then the bullpen - remember Dempster last year? Better not see that guy again.
And what if D Lee leaves the team or gets hurt? Then what?
They will not make the playoffs this year. They just do not have enough pitching.

To be honest with you anyone in the Cubs division could win the division. The Central division is always up for grabs. I think the Cubbies have a good chance.

Coming from a die hard Cubs fan, I *hope* the Cubs win the division.
Now back to reality, I would be happy if they just played .500 ball this year. The season hasn't even started yet and there's already unrest with the pitching situation. We'll have to out slug everyone to win (unfortunately).

They will score runs. The trio of Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano is as good as any in the league, I think there starting pitching will be alright but the major concerns are in the bullpen(specifically the closer situation) and the defensive outfield.

Honestly, I don't think so. I don't trust their pitching and even though they've spent a lot of money they seem like they won't be able to gel as a team. Carlos Zambrano is going to be a distraction all year and I don't think Pinella will be able to turn them around. I love the guy and his intensity but I think his career ended when he went to Tampa Bay. He's not the same guy anymore.
