You need to assess the environment at work, the degree to which you are tied to the job, and the attitude of management.

Questions to consider:
1. If a coworker started to harrass you, would this be tolerated by management? Does company have a policy on this, and if so, is it enforced?
2. Is management themselves supportive of gay employees?
3. Is anyone else out at work? If so, how are they treated by others in the organization?
4. How easy would it be for you to find another job if things at work were to get uncomfortable?
5. Does the state you live in have laws regarding discrimination based on sexual orientation?

There is no one answer to this, but the answers to questions above should help in thinking through pros and cons of coming out at work.

I also work in a warehouse. I am a female. All the other fork-lift drivers/pickers are male. I don't maintain a female appearance and nobody flirts with me so I think they know my deal. As a female I am no threat to their sexuality. If I were a male they might not be so "OK" with me. I don't know your situation but I would say If you have to ask then my answer would be a NO.
It's a big leap from people thinking you might be gay to you personally confirming it. I can't see any real benefit in coming out in a unsure situation. It's your personal business so know one there needs conformation. What would be the actual benefit of coming out there? Are you prepared for negativity from those "antis" Do any of those "antis" have any influence over your job?
Many states do not have laws that can protect you from being fired for being gay.

I'm not sure why you'd want to come out at work, unless there's someone you want to date (workplace relationships: not the best idea in the world) or gossip often revolves around dating and significant others. If that's the case, I'd come out to the coolest people, and see how it goes.

If the warehouse is your best job option, though, I'd be super-careful about endangering my livelihood. If things turn nasty, would it be a hardship to quit and find another job?

I hope it's all cool in your workplace -- I think things *are* getting better slowly but surely.

Everyone's situation and experience is different. Where I work there are a few openly gay men and several open lesbians. There are also a few people I know there that have gay or lesbian children and are very accepting of them. I don't know why, but personally I don't feel comfortable coming out to them myself. But that's just my hang up. Good luck with whatever you decide. Take care!

well, came out at work too, after waiting a long time. I liked someone very much and wanted to know whether she to be lesbian too or not. Well, I thought it was a good moment to tell, cause everybody seems to be cool about the subject. But some really nice people became very weird to me after I told them. Now they treat me like dirt.
I only want to warn you, even if they seems to be okay with it, it can turn out very different. (And actually often not in your advantage)
good luck if you tell them!

I think since you know the people who are cool, you should focus on telling the ones you know will understand and accept you. Trying making hints about gay people and get the conversation going, and then eventually you'll find out how they feel about it. If they're okay, you know it's fine to tell them. ( I know this from experience, I'm bi)

Chances are people kinda know or at least suspect it, unless they're simpletons and/or grassroots folk. It feels bad to pretend, so be yourself and respond honestly in conversations. -Most- people truly don't care much so long as you're not a particularly lazy, annoying, or burdensome employee otherwise.
