I agree, knowing he was not born in Texas, he's not literally "from Texas".

(As an aside, there's a bumper sticker in Texas that says, "I'm not from Texas but I got here as soon as I could.")

I am a Californian, a true native Californian, that's where I was born and where my homing device is. Ahh, but the thing is, so many other people moved to California from other places & call themselves Californians & I say they are truly not Californians, they are transplants, maybe even wannabees. But there is some philosophy in California I have heard before that says once you've lived there for 10 or 20 years, you're a native Californian. For me, no matter how many other places I migrate to, I will always be a Californian.

Go figure.

Considering GW Bush's age, & the amount of time he has lived in TX vs living up east, & the fact he was governor of TX, he's probably been in TX much more of his lifetime, so he feels like he's from TX.

He was born in CT.
Bush's parents moved from Connecticut to Texas when he was two years old. He was raised in Midland and Houston, Texas, and was Governor for 6 years. I think that qualifies him to say he's from there.

Because he moved there when he was 2 years old and was raised there.

I was born in CT but stayed there until I was 19. I'm 'from' CT but I don't think of Bush being from there at all. He was basically just born there, he didn't have a real life in CT. I've lived in NYC for 10 years. When I'm here, I say I'm originally from CT since I didn't grow up here. If I travel to other parts of the country, I feel I can say I'm from NY now since that's where I've lived as an adult.

So you American Muslims can tell another lie about the country live in whilst Mr Bush secretly slips into Africa to see what miracles his evangilists have done to restore existance and hope from the mass atrocities the muslimarabs have reeked through their once proud nations.
Hey why dont you join AMNESTY INTERNATION instead of worrying about silly things like this question.?

He's lived in Texas since he was a small child.

I've lived in Texas since the age of 30, and I consider myself from Texas.

Burn that chip off your shoulder. You don't need it.
