my friend just broke up with her boyfriend and is really depressed. she took about 12 painkillers with a minorly alchoholic beverage. is she gonna be ok? im really worried and im about to call 911. Is she gonna be ok?

Tragedies happen. what is she going to do? give up? quit? no... Tell her that now her heart broke, she has to fight like hell to make sure she's alive. Because she is. The pain she feels? Thats life... The confusion and fear? Thats there to remind her that somwhere out, there is something better... And that something is worth fighting for...

You should definately get her to the hospital - keep her awake and get her to puke out the naxpoxen sodium.
I don't think she is in serious, serious trouble (like she is noy going to die) because naproxen sodium is like a powerful ibuprofen - it's an anti-inflamatory drug. But the normal dosage is 1-2 every 24 hours so yea, like 12 is a lot - that much of anything is not good for the body. However, having said that, it's not like taking 12 valiums or overdosing on morphine or something.
It certainly is a cry for help though - get her detoxed and try and get her to some sort of counseling.

do not let her fall asleep
slap her gently and talk to her......and try to get her to puke up those pills.
Do you know the name of the pills she took? That would help me decide whether or not you need to call 911
naproxen sodium, ah she will be fine, her kidneys will probably fail when she gets older......tell her to quit being a dumb@$$ in the future and get a life, I hate it when women become attention wh0re$

She is desperate and very upset, but I think she new 12 pills would not kill her. She may have wanted the boyfriend to know exactly how she felt and taking those pills was the only way.
She does need help though. Ii this is how she shows her sadness now, it will get worse when she is older.

CALL 911!!!!! NOW. Twelve minutes ago. Even if they won't hurt her and i'm not saying this is not going to because it might, she needs some major counseling. Go. Get the phone!!!

yes call a dr if she is passed out she may need her stomach pumped tell her parents also what she is up to and get her some counselling
