I am a bit over 2 weeks late for my period, but for the last week or so ive had really abnormal blood type discharge of a morning every now and again, although it is really really dark. Its not constant like a period and sometimes its not noticeable until you wipe (sorry for the details!) and its only really in the mornings. I have also been getting pains in my lower abdomen and lower back at the sides. Also sharp pains in my breasts every now and again (But very rarely). I have been to the doctor for something else, and i did tell him about it but he didnt seem worried about it, but he also didnt tell me what could be wrong. Could it be pregnancy or if not what could it be?

Ok i Have noticed there are some very rude people on here lol, but You may be having something Called Implantation bleeding(where the fertalized egg attaches to the uterus).
If your are two weeks late that is right around 1month after conception, and you could be having some symptoms its hard to tell as pregnancy symptoms run awful close with PMS symptoms, lol.
The best thing to do it get a test, take it, if it comes back Negative, keep monitering your (tale tale period i dont really kow what to call it lol)
And if it doesnt stop within the next few days contact your OBGYN!! I hope ive helped

It is possible that the spotting is the result of a pregnancy. If the blood is dark (ie brown) it is indicative that it is old blood. It could be a symptom of a failed pregnancy, or it could be a bleed in a viable pregnancy. Have you done a test? With the pain as well, it is worth discussing with your doctor again as it may be an ectopic pregnancy (given that you would be 6 weeks) and that can become a medical emergency. Having said that, I had 3 bleeds during my pregnancy and have a healthy son.

The best thing to do is go and see a doctor. Yes you could be pregnant and no you may not be. I am 6 months pregnant and didn't know till I was 8 weeks pregnant for I have PCOS and don't get periods very often. But some people are pregnant and don't even know it till they deliver. Go see a doctor incase something is wrong. The doc will put your mind at ease.

It could be a yeast infection or worse T.S.S., ask your doctor about these two things and get a pap-smear. Then just keep track of your period, they will change a lot through the course of your life, until of course you hit menopause :) If you get any later than 3 weeks of your normal period get a pregnancy test done.

You need to test to rule pregnancy out. If it is pregnancy, you need an ultrasound to make sure things are progressing normally, and not outside the womb etc. You dont want it to be ectopic and not know til its too late.

It does sound like pregnancy, similar to my first one. I bled every month....everyday....right til he was born. VERY scary times! Let us know what happens!

i am concerned that he just blew you off. if you can, get a doctor who will listen to you and committ to patient education. beyond that, you could be pregnant. get a dif doc if you can. at this point you can take a home preg test or just wait until you get back into a doc's office and they can give you one. it could be a number of other things....so, yup. see a doc.
