If I am preppy and am starting to dress scene (hair, clothes, accessories) while still dressing preppy (clothes, accessories), would I be considered a poser?
Honest opinions, please.

You can't be a poser by just dressing differently from what you are. People shouldn't catagorize themselves according to clothes. It's what's in your mind that counts.
Case in point: Oprah would still be Oprah, even if she went goth.
Being a poser if at all is acting one way while being another, and that requires more than clothes.

basically, yes you will be seen as a poser at the start!
but if you actually turn scene (thats means music too!) and have scene friends,you will probably be "that preppy girl who is gone scene"
and scene people love scene people anyway! ^_^

im scene/emo or w/e and i used to be preppy until one day i was at the mall and these guys were wearing tight pants and i told her i liked that style and now im wearin girl pants and im getting better at doing my eyeliner on a question i posted someone suggested nail polish im gonna try that tommorow. so no i don't consider you a poser

If you act preppy and dress preppy than you are not a poser if you dress preppy and you do not act preppy your super totally a stupid POSER

I always considered scene kind of "emo" mixed with preppy, so no.
At my school, people who considers themselves "skaters" but they don't skate are posers.

well if you're preppy and suddenly you decide to "go scene" you will be considered a poser anyways.

do what you want, don't follow fads for the sake of following them. if you completely copy everything other people do you will be considered a poser.

No...you are dressing to your tastes that are ever changing. If someone makes fun of you for changing and not conforming to one thing then tell them to f*ck off! Go with what you want honey and everything will be alright! :)

Well scene is a more preppier version of emo, colorful clothes big on fashion etc.
Who cares girl just be yourself!
