Why is petite considered feminine? I always thought petite was boyish and tall and curvy was feminine. I personally think there's nothing more delicious and feminine than a tall curvy bombshell. Don't you think these women are hot?

Those women are hot. And most will think it too i guess... The thing is, petite is considered feminine because they're small, and fragile, like women 'should' be. You know, that stereotype where the man is the big and strong one, and the woman is the small and weak one. The 'normal' thing, is for the man to be tall and the woman to be shorter. If a woman is as tall as the man, or taller, then she has a 'male characteristic'. So she's considered less feminine. For a tall woman to be considered feminine, she has to look like the women in the pictures you posted. Most tall women don't have those amazing curves. On the other hand, short men are seen as less masculine than taller ones.
I personally don't like this stereotype, cause i don't feel too feminine because i'm tall, and not curvy. Sometimes i just feel like a goofy jirafe or something.
If you ask me, i think that a tall curvy woman looks a lot hotter than a petite curvy one.

Diminutive, or small.....(great word and appropriate too) is considered to be more feminine as people, and I am 5 foot two inches tall....tend to think I am perhaps weaker for my stature, and my voice is a radio voice so the funny thing is, if i meet someone while I am sitting down, when i stand even in heels, they wonder how on earth i got this voice....petite shows a pure and sweet often in the diminutive of it all.....people often get the wrong idea..we ARE strong!!!
Cheers!!!

Petite is considered feminine because women are "supposed" to be smaller and weaker than men thereby needing the protection a big, strong man can supposedly offer.

All different types of women are appealing to all types of men (and women!) petite women, may make a guy feel bigger, stronger...where as a taller, curvy bombshell like wonder woman, may make a smaller man feel like a little boy. But then there are the guys who dig big gals and even bigger gals...it takes all kinds.

Petite as in ... smaller than MEN, dear. Women like Paris Hilton and Keira Knightley are not entirely reveired as feminine goddesses. While they are attractive, they do not possess the generic curves that most other women have. Men like "petite" women, as in, women who are smaller and shorter than them. I mean, why do women like tall, strong men with body and facial hair and deep voices? Because it's masculine!

It depends a lot on the guy. Everyone has different tastes although I think it is more of a white people thing than in other races, especially black and latin where curves are in high demand and a voloptuous girl gets more attention than the little pre-teen body girl

Because a lot of guys want something small and petite that they could hold in their arms not some big manly thing.

To me feminine is an action not a look at all.I have seen super looking women act all vulgar with words and actions and I consider them to not be feminine.
