despite what you see in the movies a zombie can turn in a very creditable fast shuffle. blindfolding one of its leg should have no discernible effect on its speed, though there is the problem of course of whether it will hold together for the full 5 miles. would it be disqualified for example if an arm should fall off at the 3 mile marker? the alive person, usually, on seeing the zombie will at once run hell for leather in the opposite direction and therefore not finish.

If they're running, the alive person will win. If they're taking a car, the faster driver will win.
