Congress is filled with phony showboats that accomplished little to nothing from 2000 to today. They all should be impeached. Anything they passed since 2000 was based on fear.
Am I wrong?

Rich (below) If I break the law, I pay a fine and/or go to jail. FBI or any Bush underling breaks the law. They admit mistakes??? What the heck is that? He admited a mistake doedn't cut it. Fire the guy and shift up. Imagine someone cheating on their wife and simply admitting they made a mistake...

I agree with you, but collectively there are some pretty good democratic Congressional persons.
It's taking this Congress sometime to find it's sea legs. Especially being muffled by the dead branch Republicans for six years.
We have a Senate that is virtually split down the middle. I believe next elections there will be an even bigger turnover of the war mongering Republicans.
Hopefully what happens with FBI gets more consequence other than a scolding. But you hit the nail on the head, these guys have been cowed by fear.
I like what Hagel said about the job of a senator. "If you wanted a safe job go be shoe salesman". Hagel has made some very remarks of late, but he is two of 49.

Well I think they proved how incompetent the FBI is, and how they misuse power when they said they would not.
If you don't think possible criminal activity being conducted isn't important then we have a pretty good idea of what you think of the constitution!
I guess you would like to keep all this spying on American citizens who do not warrant having the FBI pour over their Medical, job, Internet, financial and any other record they can find whether it is the truth or not, kept secret! Why would anyone want that?

Yes, it did. The head of the FBI had to go on national TV to admit mistakes and they overstepped their authority. But, it's only going to get worst. If another terrorist attack takes place, don't be surprised if we have some form of martial law. The FBI is the one agency you should fear, not Congress. If they supercede the law regarding our common rights as citizens then you should believe it will happen again and again. It's been that way since the 1970's.

same thing they always do... same when they pulled in the oil folks a few years ago and shook their fingers at them....
they walk out the doors counting their millions still and nothing changes...
but, just as a "devil's advocate" here (I'm not exactly a Republican) but... people did vote them in, people were afraid... and many wanted many of these things done...
granted, it wasn't the best ideas... but I know many people that wanted SOMETHING done...and I think many just passed these things in a hurry to be like "Look what I did, I'm protecting America!"... to appease the people... many dems did it too...
it's hard to reason with people after a 9-11... not that it's an excuse... but I can understand it a little...
but we should probably go fix some of that stuff now... it's time...

You are wrong in so many ways I don't know where to begin. I will say this though, the FBI wants one thing that Congress can give them: $$$$$$

Wow, you must be a high level agent of the FBI to know and appreciate enough about their job to even have the credibility to criticize them.
I mean if you weren't... it'd just be sad.
