It sounds to me that you have immature friends. My circle of friends never take advantage of each other, then again I am older and I have older friends.

My advice to you would be to sit down, find a quiet place and come to terms with what can rightfully be expected from your friends. Depending on their ages unfortunately you might have to put up with certain character issues in their lives that they haven't worked out yet. Like talking behind your back, only being interested in you when they want something, and other similar issues. Depending on how strong and independent you are you can overcome this issue by simply demanding that things change. Draw the line in your friendships clearly if you are having problems with them not making one up themselves. If they lack the inner conviction to treat you rightly lead them by example, demonstrate how one should be, and then demand it from them- but only when you are personally demonstrating the character you want from them yourself do you have the right to feel alienated or mistreated by them. If you are a good friend then good friends will be attracted to you.

Don't get used by others. You are probably strong enough on your own, just draw a line that is reasonable and make sure you recipricate the qualities you want in your friendships. In other words make sure you don't demand from others what you yourself do not demand from yourself. Don't be over-bearing but do demand what is rightfully yours. If you are finding many problems with your friendships focus on learning from their mistakes, making sure you don't do to others what others do to you if it is wrong, and if you must walk away from them know there are plenty of people out there that can be awesome friends. Good luck.

F=full of love
R=root of joy
I=island of God
E=end of sorrow

With this in mind it is as easy as ABC to find a real friend.
All the best.

Talk to your so-called "friends" about how you feel. If they still treat you the same way, leave them. If you're unhappy with the way your friends are treating you, look for pals who'll treat you with respect and dignity. You're a nice person and deserve to be in the company of good people.
