When You Create A Blog How Do You Make it Get Hits/Promoted/Recognized?

Question

I just started using this website where you can publish articles and make a little extra money from it. It's called Associated Content.

Anyhow to get more hits on my articles I was thinking about creating a blog. When you create a blog how do you make it show up on search engines etc...???

I would not use a blog and provide content to a company so that they would profit from the advertising associated with the blog page. It seems that this company pays a small fraction to you for content but they make much more money selling advertising on this page. If I were you I would look into companies that offer web hosting services and give you a domain name. From there you can build your own blog, and sell your own advertising on the Internet. It's cheap to start and if you picked up a book from the library on simple HTML and Java script you could have your site up in no time. I would learn the HTML and Java Script, build all the pages, then sign up for web hosting and publish your site. GoDaddy.com is the largest (and probably the best) for offering web hosting services. Do a search online with keywords like "submit url free" and similar. There are freebie things that will submit the url to search engines. Sometimes it takes a number of weeks for it to become active, but it's better then paying the prices some other people do.
