Since this a manditory payroll deduction from each and every person that works how can any government agency take these funds (which we will all be counting on at retirement time)without permission from each and every person who participates in the deduction program.

I do not know who's idea it was but a lot of illegals have received stolen social security numbers so they can get bank accounts, jobs etc. I have heard it argued that since some of them pay into social security they should be allowed to reap the benefits of it when they retire. I; however, cannot get pasted the idea that they have stolen the SSN in the first place. We should not reward people for breaking the law.
