I know how gross this sounds BELIEVE me. please dont ignore the question tho i REALLY need advice i am crying myself to sleep 2nite.
here is some backstory: i am a guy, and i have always liked girls. i am now 17 and my dad is in his early 50s. he is a "mans man" type guy he loves football and beer and stuff so its not like theres any chance he is gay anyway.
my mom died 3 years ago and it has been really hard on the two of us. but he has taken really good care of me. he helped me restore an old pontiac and now its a really cool car, and he taught me how to fire a handgun at the shooting range.
plus, i have to admit, he works out a lot and stays in really good hsape. everyone says how handsome he is, and in the last few weeks, i dunno but im like "noticing". i dont know, i find myself thinking about him a lot, not just sex, but just love, you know.
but god, what are the chances it could go anwyhere? what do i do? do i tell him? should i make a move? i am SO confused PLEASE help

& then, u will not have time to think about such things.......
Also, Please don't tell your Dad about this. You must overcome these feelings yourself, by talking to a counselor.

First and foremost, sorry about your mother. But thinking that your dad is a great guy or even a handsome guy is normal and not a big deal. It doesn't mean you're in love with him either. It's always interesting how guys who think other guys are hot are assumed guy while girls call each other pretty all the time. Psychologically, scientists have observed that children do think about having sex with their parents as well, so I don't think you've really got anything to worry about. Lastly, if you're gay, it's not a big deal, you'll be fine without having to screw your dad, find a boyfriend. If you're straight, just remember that most kids go through this stage. You and your dad have a great bond, don't confuse it for sexual attraction. I hope you figure this out! Even if you could "get somewhere" with your dad, would it be worth the relationship you have now? It'll change everything, think about it...

I don't think you are falling in love with your dad. You were quite young when you lost your Mom and it has been you and your dad and maybe you are just seeing all the good things about him and want to be like him. I think some of this is due to losing your mom. Don't think there's a chance that it will go anywhere. Find you a girl friend and I think you will be okay. Good luck.

wow. im not really sure how to respond to that but i cant even imagine what that must be like. so, im not really sure how to give you advice. i dont know if you want to tell him yet. just think about how awkward that would be. you dont want to ruin your relationship. my advice would be to try to see if you can ignore it. i thought that i was attracted to someone but i wasnt supposed to be (kindof same situation...) and then i just ignored it and it is a less pervasive thought. i know how hard it is to ignore your feelings though. just because of the abnormal nature of this attraction (no offense), i dont think you should make a move. from what it sounds like your dad isnt romantically interested in you. and since its illegal, i dont think it would go anywhere. try to think of it as more of a father-son bond rather than envisioning yourself having sex with him?? im sorry, i know that probably wasnt very helpful. but i just wanted to let you know that i feel for you, and im wishing you good luck. i'll keep you in my prayers. it'll work out. i hope! :)

No, you're not falling in love with your dad. It is a normal feeling that comes to you because both of you have gone through difficult times together and how he has been taking care of you nicely. He is the closest person to you and vice versa. You love him a lot, that is how it should be. You can go and tell him that you love him, feel free to express your feeling. It is the time for you to realise that nothing is better than love and to be loved by our parents. I am so proud of you because nowadays rarely children realise that their parent have been sacrificed a lot of things only for us. You have given a great admiration to his love and care! WOW .. you are having alot of emotions running through your head.. and i don't think that it is you are " in love with you dad" maybe all those "love" feelings you are having are just feelings of being thankful, and how much respect you have for your dad, i bet it was hard your mom dieing, and i am so very sorry about that sweetheart. That is going to make you strong, and it looks like your dad is an amazing dad, and you want to be like him.. not you are " in love with him". Maybe you find him attractive, because he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you want to be like him. I tihnk you need to sit yourself down and realize you are not "in love with him!!! Believe me, if you told your father you liked him in other ways he'd probably try to find counseling for you. You must have your feelings all mixed up because of all he's done for you. A counseler is not a bad thing although. They will help you understand why you're having these feelings.

It's ok that you love him, dont feel bad, but never tell him that, you should try to manage this youself. In life there are a lot of things you are not supposed to do.
Look for someone in you life, go out.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't jeopardize your current relationship. Perhaps you're around him so much that you can't help but to notice these things. Try going out with some girls and hopefully you'll transfer these thoughts. Whatever you do don't act on it!

he is ur father and all you have now so he is trin extra hard to make you feel loved you should love your father but not like that please dont tell him and like someone else said you should get a girl friend and take the thought out of your mind becuz it will not work!

I think your relationship with your father is growing, as a son, not a lover. Your bond is growing stronger, especially since your mother passed away and you are all each other have. You probably just admire him as a father, and as a man.
Doesn't necessarily mean you are in love with him...
