1. Hot Water: damage no. hypomotile and less effective in swimming to egg, yes. Usually hot water referred to that of hot tubs that sometimes hover around 102-103F, well above the humans 98.6. Not water of a shower or other things that we may take only 5-15 minutes to do.

2. Hot Air no. Thats why the testicles sit in a sac outside the body that allows cooling even if the air is hot

3. Smoking: no

4. Alcohol: no damage, but can decrease testosterone in chronic abusers thus making LESS sperm.

5. Semen refers to sperm and the fluid it sits in so its one in the same

6. We make and resorb sperm constantly, but the only true thing that "damages" sperm is our own genetic make up. No sperm cell is the same so its a normal process. Some we make cannot swim. Some we make swim funny and thus ineffective. Some we make can swim like Mark Spitz! Ejaculate or not but our sperm is our DNA make-up with or without alcohol, tobacco.

7. Disclaimer: not discussed was things such as marijuana and other drugs where some think the sperms DNA may be disrupted

Hope this helps...cheers
