A plane that runs out of gas at 30,000 ft,,,,, commo'n like there is no parachute??? I would jump down with my parachute. but I would rather go to a car with no brakes, speeding along the highway,,,, since I have a great chance to be alive.

A car with no brakes speeding along the highway. You'd still have a chance of surviving, pus you could always turn the car off and coast. A plane or Helicopter would more then likely be instant death.

My first choice would be the plane. Dead stick landings (i.e. no power) aren't that big of a deal! It's even part of a pilots training!! At 30,000ft. I can glide a *long* way to find an airport or other safe landing area. Hasn't anyone ever heard of gliders? The plane isn't going to drop like a brick just because the engine stopped.

The speeding car because I could throw it into neutral and slow down to a stop. Your brakes don't have to be working to change the gear to neutral. At least not in my car.

3. A car with no brakes.
Since you didn't say how fast speeding is, I'll say speeding is 25 miles per hour. I know I can survive a 25 mph crash.

As an ex-skydiver I would definately go for No. 1! There is still a chance you might live (it's happened heaps of times, parachutes sometimes fail) and if not, you're in for a hell of a ride for the last couple of seconds. What a way to go!

The car. You can jump from the car and at least have a chance, but you wouldn't have much chance falling from 3000 or 30,000 ft.
