Ok I really want a My Space because all my friends always talk about how cool they are....but I hear about all those girls who got hurt, kidnapped or worse cause of them. I can’t decide if I should get one. Plus my mom won’t let me have one, but she doesn’t understand that I have no social life because my life is in our home cleaning and pretty much catering to my families every need. I have no friends and my life honestly sucks. I don’t know what to do. I need pros and cons and a final suggestion. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The plus side of having a myspace is it is really fun at first. But you can end up trusting people who you don't really know because you feel like you have a "connection." And you might even be trusting enough to meet someone in person. But you really never know who it is you are talking to because you have no way of knowing if what they're saying is true. And myspace can become addicting. Some people I know are on it at work all day. It takes away from other things you can be doing....My suggestion: instead of convincing your parents to let you have a myspace, try to convince them to let you go out with your friends more. Show them that you are responsible and can be trusted. Maybe make a deal with them..ask to take along a sister or cousin at first. I assure you that you will be a lot happier just spending time with friends than sitting in front of a computer displaying your life story for everyone (good and bad) to see.

the only people who have "crime" problems with MySpace are when they reveal too much information like their street address, etc ... there's no reason not to do - just start out slow - you can reveal yourself slowly or pick another name, no one cares what your name is online. like everything else, there are situations that are normal and others that require caution - just like you might met someone at the mall but not behind your school at midnight, right? Same with online - a cool photo of you in shades is good - yout telling people you don't lock your window at night and you live at 555 Chesterfield - not so good. So, be you, be someone else but remember - have fun and be entertaining - we have enough dull sites online ...

facebook and Myspace have not something to do with saftey. as long as you're clever and don't provide out own preparation to human beings on the two one then they are the two purely as risk-free. p.s. I say MYSPACE.

Yeah it depends on how old you are. If you trust everyone, you shouldn't get it. Maybe wait a little while or let a friend show you more about it. Don't do it because "everyone has one".

Yeah, Myspace rocks. Get one but don't put your location on it and set it to private.
