My sweet Lord - George Harrison, one of my all time favorites,
in that same stile you should listen to # 9 dream by John Lennon

That is George Harrison's "My sweet lord" I don't remember any Beatles work related the way that you describe it except My sweet lord. Listen to the song here and good luck!

I think you might be thinking about "Across the Universe''. It's on Let it Be and the lyrics you might be refering to is "Jai Guru Deva Om". It's a chant used during meditation. It means Hail to the Exaulted One. Hope this helps

That's probably a John Lennon creation without The Beatles.

Or could it be a George Harrison song instead?

Let's see...

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you lord
But it takes so long, my lord

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you lord
That it wont take long, my lord (hallelujah)

My sweet lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My sweet lord (hallelujah)

I really want to see you
Really want to see you
Really want to see you, lord
Really want to see you, lord
But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah)

My sweet lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my lord (hallelujah)
